Sky Blue
Why is the sky blue and why is the grass green?
Give me your ideas to why is the Sky blue and to why is grass green
The sky is blue because blue light has one of the shortest wavelengths of the visible spectrum, hence it is much more easily scattered than the other colors of light. If our eyes were more sensitive to the violets, the sky would appear violet (because it is scattered even more than blue).
This is also why sunsets and sunrises are orange and red. By the time the light has gone through that much of the atmosphere most of the shorter wavelengths have been scattered leaving only the longer wavelengths, the reds, oranges, and yellows.
Grass is green because chlorophyl is green. Green is right in the middle of the visible spectrum the sun sends to us, so it makes sense that light sensative organisms would evolve to have a color that is the most common.
